This Ginger gets pinecone shaped inflorescence at end of stem with bright red bracts. Flowers are of creamy – peach color are tube shaped and emerge generally one at a time.
A tropical, subtropical plant grows in rich humus well-draining soil, from sunny to partial shaded conditions with lots of summer rains. Planted in Florida grows 4 to +6 feet will grow shorter in pot. Is cold hardy in zones 9 – 11 however should be covered well in 8 – 9 during winter months or potted and brought in doors as can freeze. Indoors place in large pot, bright filtered light, window south or west side.
